Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of service does Angels Watching Over You, Inc. provide?
Angels provides guidance and advice on choosing the appropriate service to meet your individual needs. You may choose from the following;

How long has Angels Watching Over You been in business?
Angels Watching Over You, Inc. has been in business for over 15 years. What started out as a single person, home based business now has two locations. Our main office is located in Watertown, CT at 686 Main Street. From this location Angels provides service to the elderly in the greater Waterbury area. Our second office is located in Trumbull, CT at 940 White Plains Road. This location makes it convenient for Angels to service the Fairfield County area. Both companies are privately owned by the founder and president, Lisa Taccardi.

Are the care providers screened and if so, how?
Absolutely! Extensive background checks are done on every care provider. Local and state background checks are completed and when appropriate, national checks as well. A minimum of three references is required on each care provider, both personal and professional. Care providers must pass a comprehensive skills evaluation test. A minimum or two internal interviews are completed on each care provider. Care providers must agree to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.

What are the hours of care I can have someone assist me?
You decide! We are here to meet your needs. Care is available from a minimum of 4 hours a day up to 24 hours a day, 1 day a week up to 7 days a week. You choose the time. With the advice and guidance from a registered nurse, input from your family members, your doctor, and most importantly, input from you, together we will devise a plan of care that best suits your individual needs. Angels will also work with any existing care providers already in place to ensure that you or your loved one receives the care they need when they need it.

Will the same care provider come every time?
Yes, a primary care provider will be assigned to you. Angels is very sensitive to providing continuity in care. We realize that frequent changes in care providers can be confusing and stressful to the elderly. Our commitment to bonding with and genuinely getting to know our clients requires a relationship to develop. This can only be accomplished when the same person provides the care. In the event of an emergency, an illness or during a vacation of the primary care provider, a replacement can be provided if you so choose.

What if I need to cancel services?
Angels understands that circumstances and situations change. Canceling service is never a problem however, unless it is an emergency we ask that 24 hours notice be given.

Do you accept Insurance or do I pay out of pocket?
Angels Watching Over You is a private pay company. Although some long term care insurance companies and some private policies will cover the cost of some or all of the services, it depends on the type of individual coverage you have. Angels will be more than happy to provide you with any necessary paperwork you need to submit for reimbursement purposes however, we ask that you pay us directly for services rendered.

Who can call for service?
Anyone may request service including the client themselves. Very often a family member or friend, physicians, nurses, hospitals discharge planners, social workers, assisted living facilities, attorneys, even clergy call to request our services.

What if I don't like the care provider?
That's not a problem. Because of the time and attention to detail that goes into matching the care provider and the client, rarely does this situation occur, however, if it does Angels will respond immediately to the situation. Care providers can be replaced promptly if necessary and every effort will be made to find someone more suited to you or your loved one.

Do I have to sign a contract for service?
No, you are not locked in to any time frame. Angles has gone to great lengths to make finding and securing a care provider as easy as possible. Although there is no binding contract for you to sign, we do ask that you sign an agreement which simply outlines what type of care arrangements have been made and who the responsible party for payment will be. That's it!

We understand that this can be a very stressful time for you and your family but it doesn't have to be. There is honest, dependable, professional help available to you. We promise to make it easy for you.

It's really quite simple. We are here to provide you with what you need when you need it. Let Angels do the work. Let an Angel Watch Over You.
